Cheep day return

It occoured to me that train travel can be very expensive and sometimes hazardous. I had been invited to attend a Charity function in London

So i booked my day off from work, and organised my rail ticket, the cost of a cheep day return to Waterloo on the Iron horse worked out at £27 mazoomers, it then dawned on me of the average cost of an away day. Here we go. A day off from work= £?, Taxi to my local station =£?, Newspaper and Coffee whilst waiting for the over crowded train =£?,

Cost of rail ticket =£27, Taxi to St James = £?, + tip, Lunch and drinks = £?, Donation to Charity = £?, Evening dinner and more falling down juice for self and 2 other plebs = £?, Taxi back to the station =£?,

FDJ at the station whilst waiting for the over crowded train and a copy of the Evening standard = £?, If I am lucky I might get a seat, what if someone jumps in front of the train going too or from London I will have to pay for that as well = £?, Taxi from the station home = £? In all quite an expensive " Cheep day return" = £££:££. Still it could be worse I could have been at work. Moral of this tale, no matter what, a bad day off is better than a good day at work! Have a nice day you all. KK Sparky.
