She who dares breaks a Leg.
Yesterday was supposed to be a constructive day ie lots would be done, the Gas fitter phoned at about 0830 to say she would be calling on us to repair the faulty gas fire between 2 and 4pm which gave me the chance to get a hair cut and then finish the last 3 doors with stain and varnish.
At 11am the Baxi gas office phoned to say that the girl who was due to repair our fire had finished the previous job early and was on her way to us when she broke her arm whilst loading up her van with an old boiler block which she was carrying to the van, she tripped and fell trapping her arm as she landed.
The office wanted me to stand by for one morning next week and they would phone to say what day and what time they would be arriving, as if I just sit around waiting for a phone call. I informed him that the work had to be carried out this Friday am or they get the fires back, he agreed. Sorted. kkma.

Christmas quiz
I have been asked to devise a quiz in time for the Christmas office party, well any one who knows me will be aware that I know fcuk all about Geography, Fishing, Spelling, Sum's, Travel, Electricity, Amnesia, Tunnel vision, Desert Camels, The Greek Islands and my garden shed, and not a lot about Blogging etc, so I qwill stick to what I do know. Has an Indian rhino got one horn or two? More later.
Staining and varnishing doors is very tedious easpecialy when its getting late, looking this morning before work they look great, a blind fellah would love to see them. (Aborigional saying). kkma.

No Gale force winds and not many fish.
Trevor the weather got it wrong and the fishing was crap, 1lb 14.5 oz for 1 point and last in my section was all that I could muster, must try harder on the final match in two weeks time which will be on the notorious Basingstoke Canal near Aldershot.

"And so to bed"
Batten down the hatches as this week end according to Trevor the weather the south of England and some other areas are going to be hit by Hurricane force winds (11)? Well lets hope not as my fishing trip to the Kennet and Avon Canal on Sunday will be a Grueler.
The New solid Oak wooden floor has been finished and it looks beautiful with the rest of the decorating also completed. All we need now is the Dining furniture and the new suite to arrive and we will be back in business lets hope by the new year we can celebrate in comfort. Off to the shops to look for some electrical accessories and rugs Have a grand weekend. kkma.

Musical Interlude
Good morning.
Some of you may know that I am a fan of the "BOSS" we went to see him with the Pete Seager sessions band at Wembley arena what a show most Impressive what a difference from when we saw him at Alexandra palace 3-4 years ago the sound was crap in that arena and spoilt the show. This time it was marvelous.
Then an opportunity arose when a friend of my wife took ill with a bad back and offered us the tickets to see Nils Laughren at the Brook Club Southampton, well seeing that Neil is part of the East street band we shot of to the Brook and what a great show at a terrific venue. No sooner had the dust settled then we were back to the Brook last night to see Bill Wymans Rhythm Kings with a superb line up, Andy Fairweather Lowe, Albert Lee, and Eddie Floyd who was the guest singer a terrific show.
Now that I am topped up with music for a while I suppose my invitation to see Joe Pasqualli in January will have to do for a while at least until the Hollies start their new tour in March next year. kkma.

White Horses.
The Solent and Gail force winds greeted me this morning as I drove into work along with a broken bough of a 35ft tree which separated me from the entrence and my parking bay, it's pitch black and not knowing what was going to crash down next the situation made for an uncomfortable few seconds it was at that point I wished I had my Transmorgafier with me, lashing my nylon tow rope to the tow hook I slipped the noose around the end section of the broken section and drove away just as the 2nd section gave way and crashed where I had been parked, that was lucky I thought to my self at the same time checking the colour of my rammies. The tree surgeon has just left and left me with a £250 bill, have a nice weekend whilst considering a job change and taking up tree surgery ,loads of dosh to be earnt this time of the year. kkma.

Embarrassing Blogg site spelling.
3rd attempt.
My other half is 100% correct I never look at the whole screen. Yesterday I thought I had found how to correct my spelling errors so I made the necessary alterations when I looked at it later on nothing had been changed. When I opened up today low and behold right in front of my mince-pies was a little box with ABC in it? Where the fcuk did that come from? MrD crept in during silent hours and Jim'd it for me.
So typing this will prove if I have sussed it or not. Example = choice.
4th Attempt, " EUREKA" it works, the worlds my Oyster or cockle something like that. kkma.

REMEMBERING THE DEAD
How do you not remember the dead?
It is not as easy as you think, I am talking about the people who have died whilst defending or fighting for their Country. In modern times now and I suppose over the past say 90 years( Modern era ) including the 2 world wars some people fought for their Country and wanted to no matter what their politics or religion said. A lot of people did not have too much choise, they were damned if they did and were damned if they did not.
Some did as they were told it was the done thing, others were told join up it will be great and will all be over by Christmas. People were concscripted by the Government to join the services. People and Countries joined in beacause of their allegience to the Sovereign of the Country or the British Commonwealth and traveled thousands of or hundreds of miles to do so. Poor, Ignorant, unwell, unloved, rich they joined and fought for all sorts of reasons.
For what ever reason people did and died so that we may enjoy our freedom and our lives with out being intimidated or murdered. Freedom to do or say what we like.
I had the opportunity to look at a Blogg site where the person who's site it is complained that they were sick to death of people who were trying to sell them Red poppies and were sick to the back teeth with the whole thing. The first thing I felt was anger and typed an immediate response into the comment box about what I felt, but it would not except my comment as I did not apply something into the URL box first. I was so angry at not being able to comment because I did not know what to do(freedom of choise etc) that I gave it up as a bad job.
Armastice day and Rememberence day have now both passed by and Service personel are still dieing for their Country and our freedom. To do what ever we like as well as commenting in/on blogg sites. I DONT LIKE WAR or the current government that spawned the wars which our service people are fighting and dieing for. But I do purchase my Red poppy or any colour or type of symble as I know it goes in part towards supporting the people and the families who are left behind, " least we forget"
I have never fought for my Country or served in the forces but my Compassion must go very deep as I want to support the idea of giving to support those who gave for me. If I had been asked to join up or was told I HAD to then I would have done so, As a yong man I found my self overseas and caught up in a war, and another time a Military Coupe which I was asked to join and fight for, my choise I opted not to, I was very close to joing the fight as we had been shot at only minutes before and had to shoot our way out of a realy scary situation.
All of a sudden I have realised that I did have a choise in typing this comment and I am glad I did. To the person who I think will look at this Blogg site and read this Blogg all I can say to you (or feel)is this next time you are offered a symbol to buy or support, War or not, please think again and show some compassion for those who gave so that YOU can LIVE or Blogg in peace, just as your for fathers did. kkma.

The reckoning.
Day 2 and I reckon that today was better than yesterday,24hrs can make a lot of difference. The displays look great and the local rag has photographed them for a special feature for the 11/12 November weekend and Rememberence Sunday editions.
I shall be fishing on the 12th on the Kennet and Avon Canal near Hungerford cant wait to catch loads of miniscule fishes which only weigh grams, still waters run deep? who said that? Mr D I exspect.
I have found my self getting into the Sopranoe's TV series big time and have been a sad avid fan from day1 and once I have finished some DIY we will be a-watching tonight.kkma.

Opening day
Well what a good day it has been the new display that I have been involved with at the R M Museum has finaly been opened and received with lots of enthusiasm by the 145 guests present it made it all feel worth while and the past 4 months of blood sweat and tears it took to get 5 new displays up and exhibited at the same time quite enjoyable.
Korea, Suez, Aden, Cyprus and the Falklands campaignes all celibrating 50, or 25 years scince they took place. Followed by a 2hr presentation by an Archeologist on first world war Trench digs and his quest to find the family of the remains of a soldier who died in the great war 90 years ago with success including photos.
After they had all gone and the falling down juice glassas had been dobied I had time to reflect, where had that time gone, Holidays to Corfu, Scuba diving in the Med and the Solent, The Eagles concert at Twickenham and Lots of red wine with some special chums and all of a sudden It felt good to have acchieved so much in such a short space of time. What have you done today to make you feel glad (Heather Small song? "M People")
Ps What have you done today. Comments please. kkma.
